Management Accountant


My client the UK's leading provider of integrated professional support service solutions, require a Management Accountant to join this well-established division based in .
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified or Finalist Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller in the financial aspects of the business including preparation and review of monthly results and forecasting. To effectively manage and develop other members of the team and develop a strong relationship with non-finance management.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing month end results and forecast and ensure accuracy of variance analysis.
  • Manage and develop finance team.
  • Good awareness and understanding of balance sheet to ensure accuracy of P&L and maximising cash flow.
  • Seek to continually improve internal controls and processes.
Key :
  • Effectively reporting financial performance for the relevant profit centres, ensuring monthly forecasting and Profit and Loss reporting is completed accurately and on time. Liaising closely with the profit centre senior managers.
  • Review monthly financial reports by profit centre group, including variance analysis, of actual vs. forecast, and revisions to future forecast, to be presented to the Financial Controller within a tight reporting deadline.
  • Prepare three-year budget and lifetime projection plans accurately whilst working closely with senior management to ensure profit is attainable whilst being challenging to achieve.
  • To assist with bid modelling where appropriate.
  • Liaison with internal / external auditors when required.
  • Maintain standard Group and Finance procedures across the business and Corporate Governance controls.
  • Responsibility for leading and developing team members to include regular performance reviews and on the job coaching.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of UK accounting practice, as relevant to responsibilities.
  • To provide ad-hoc support, as required by local and Group Finance team.
  • To review internal controls and processes for effectiveness and continually seek to improve.
Essential Experience / Skills:
  • Newly qualified or currently studying towards a professional accountancy qualification with prior experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of people management preferable.
  • Track record of delivering quality output to tight reporting deadlines by challenging existing processes and systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Proven background of good working relationships and being able to influence non-finance managers.
