Finance Manager

My client, a household brand name is one of Yorkshire's biggest success stories, and through exceptional growth is emerging into one of the key players in their sector. This is a newly created role that is one of the most true 'commercial' and out and out 'business partner' roles available, reporting into the directly to the Merchandising and Buying Director and on a dotted line basis to the CFO. An outline of duties include:

• Developing and operating analytics to support category management of all product categories across the business
• Develop sales and other operational targets for the categories to establish a performance management and incentive structure across the organization
• Prepare regular pricing and range analysis versus retail competitors and assist the Merchandising team with recommendations
• Perform regular financial reviews around ranges and individual products to help continuously improve the company's product mix and space allocation in the stores
• Evaluate viability and analyse promotion program success for all programs
• Monitor key supplier performance, support negotiations and business development discussions with key suppliers and identify opportunities for renegotiations
• Business partnering with the Category Managers / Buyers
• Ad-hoc analysis that drives and supports improvements in company profitability through analysis of strategic and commercial opportunities

With the nature of the role this role will suit someone who works in a true commercial finance / business partner role. the analysis element means you will be strong on Excel, modellling and exposure to BI tools. Experience in FMCG or Retail would be a huge plus as you can come in and hit the ground running in what is a very high profile role for the business. Candidates not CIMA/ACA qualified but have genuine commercial finance / business partner exprience will also be considered.
