Human Capital Partners have been retained by one of the fastest growing finance companies in the UK to identify and appoint their Financial Controller. The business has grown from 30 FTE’s to 150 in 18 months and continues to gain market share. Led by industry veterans the business is well funded through private equity investment, a warehouse facility from a large US bank as well as two additional funding facilities from two major hedge funds. It is a fast paced, rapidly changing environment with a very flat structure and a ‘politics’ free culture where an ambitious, bright individual with a desire to make an impact could thrive.

Reporting to the CFO the Financial Controller will work closely with the Head of FP&A and will be responsible for leading a team of 6-8. The Financial Controller will oversee the operational accounting, financial accounting and investor reporting for the business.

The successful candidate will prepare the monthly board pack, finance commentary and detailed management accounts to tight deadlines whilst supporting the investors bi-monthly reporting cycle. You will continuously seek process and system improvements to obtain efficiencies where possible and ensure that the business and its growth are supported by a “best in class” finance department.

The Financial Controller will liase directly with the Private Equity partner and external investors to ensure adequate working capital to cover future lending requirements. Oversee banking arrangements and maintaining a good business relationship with Lloyds. Oversee the treasury function; setting up new bank accounts, ensuring funding sweeps are made in an accurate and timely fashion and that accounts in are in funds at close of play each day using live cash. You will also own the external audit process and will be the main point of contact with the external audit manager.

Candidates will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with recent experience in a similar Senior Finance position. Previous experience of working in a Financial Services, Insurance or Consumer Lending business is essential as is experience and knowledge of FCA regulations.
