Gleeson Accountancy Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with our multi-site, award winning, high profile client on the outskirts of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire who require a Credit Controller to join their growing team, initially for 6 weeks, with a potential for extension subject to performance. This is a superb opportunity for individuals seeking their next credit control role, who have already gained relevant and recent experience in a similar environment, and you will receive full training in this role.
Reporting directly into the Credit Control Supervisor, as a Credit Controller, your duties will include:
- Responsibility for overseeing approx 500 live accounts
- Providing customers with copies of invoices & statements as and when required
- Answer incoming calls and sharing of work within the team, and to cover for other teams members in the event of holiday/sickness
- Recommend the relevant accounts for legal action as and when required
- Monthly reporting to management on DSO and collections achieved
- Allocating of cash to relevant accounts
- Contact past-due accounts in a courteous, business-like and professional manner and arrange for payment of all past- due invoices
- Maintain an organised follow-up schedule so that an overdue account is contacted
- Maintain appropriate comments in the system of all customer requirements, collection action taken, payments received, promises made etc.
- Answer incoming and return customer telephone calls promptly and professionally
- Demonstrate a commitment to the process of continuous improvement, proposing and implementing process changes, identifying and responding actively to the needs of all customers
Knowledge, skills & experience as a Credit Controller
- Preferably SAP or Oracle Experience, but full training will be given
- Advanced Excel and Word skills preferably
- Good standard of general Education, including numeracy, written and spoken English language
- Eye for detail
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to handle difficult callers
- Good knowledge of accounting controls
- Team Player with a positive proactive approach
- Demonstrates effective communication
