Robert Half Finance and Accounting are working with a leading European specialist pharmaceutical company with over 100 years of expertise in all major European markets to recruit a Treasury Manager to be based in their Guildford office on an ongoing interim basis.

The main purpose of the role is to establish an effective treasury framework, governance structure and function to manage working capital, cash, liquidity, banking and reporting in line with the recently produced PWC blueprint; to support this framework introduce the following:

  • Treasury policy manual, with clear roles and responsibilities across finance
  • High level review of current treasury activities, including roles and responsibilities, to ensure there is appropriate governance, checks and controls in place
  • Executive Treasury Report for CEO and Treasury Committee; to include KPI and trigger reporting measures to manage cash, working capital, foreign exchange, commodity exposure and financial covenants
  • Lead and deliver a project to refine short-term forecasting, reporting of actuals and variance analysis in the first 6 months
  • Lead and deliver a project to set up a robust medium term working capital and cash flow forecast in local currency to support the treasury framework and financing needs; with Business Insight and Operational Accounting from Q4 2018

Role

As Treasury Manager the successful candidate would be expected to oversee and manage all treasury activities and reporting. Sharing best practices and coaching support to Treasury Controller; ensure all treasury activities are covered under business continuity planning for daily activities.

The successful candidate would be expected to support the CFO and Head of Corporate Finance on all aspects of re-financing the business, from the management of bank relationships and strategic decisions around financing, to supporting the financial modelling on new partnerships and acquisitions.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Member of the Treasury Committee
  • High level review of current treasury activities, including roles and responsibilities, to ensure there is appropriate governance, checks and controls in place
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all treasury activities; Implement the PWC blueprint to deliver a treasury management function and framework with clear policies and effective means of monitoring progress
  • Draft and implement a treasury policy manual
  • Introduce an Executive Treasury Reporting to monitor performance; to include KPIs, trigger metrics, working capital and cash forecasts and reporting
  • Provide policy, guidance and monitoring to the business insight and purchasing teams on all aspects of commodity and foreign exchange decisions
  • Lead and deliver a project to refine short-term forecasting, reporting of actuals and variance analysis in the first 6 months
  • After 6 months, lead and deliver a project to set up a robust medium term working capital and cash flow forecast in local currency to support the treasury framework and financing needs; this will require hands on, detailed and collaborative working with Business Insight and Operational Accounting teams.
  • Monitoring banking covenants and credit facilities, cash and liquidity and commodity and FX exposure across the business
  • Review internal and external investment priorities to enable optimal resource allocation
  • Support the re-financing of the business, working with the Insight and Corporate Finance team preparing the strategic plan, and Business Development Finance team assessing new opportunities

Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in treasury management gained in a multinational environment and experience of working within a matrix environment.

  • Analytically strong with highly developed knowledge and ability to specify and use IT systems to achieve process improvements and the conversion of data into meaningful business information.
