We are working with a global institutional investor to recruit a Senior Accounting Executive. The finance department manages the finance and accounting function for investment holding and corporate management companies. The team is responsible for reviewing financial controls for asset operations, providing financial information for reporting on investments under management, and arranging external debt financing. These assets are invested globally and span various sectors, private and public portfolio companies, funds and debt instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a full set of accounts for a few legal entities.
  • Execute closing activities (including preparation of accounting entries, payroll accounting, bank reconciliations, Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items)
  • Perform calculation of Service fees for the legal entities
  • Perform cost allocation for management accounting purposes
  • Maintain Fixed Assets register including Capitalisation, write-offs of assets
  • Manage internal and external audit requirements and queries
  • Perform and execute internal controls in an efficient and effective manner
  • Execute improvement programs to drive efficient and effective finance processes
  • Perform data analytics to assess abnormal trends and spending.
  • Manage payables processes (including payments, resolving vendor queries)
  • Participate in systems implementation in the London Finance team
  • Review P&L, perform variance analysis and assess key risk indicators
  • Execute corporate activities that includes Company secretarial filing, preparation and filing of quarterly VAT returns
  • Deliver budgeting, reporting, cash management, and ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Strong communications skills
  • Skilled in MS Excel (pivots, macros, vlookups etc)
  • Experience in Finance processes (e.g. Payable, Fixed Assets)
  • Familiarity of ERP and accounting systems (knowledge of Peoplesoft Financials would be an advantage)
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve and think independently
  • Able to work to tight deadlines during the month end close
  • Experience of the audit cycle and liaising with external auditors
  • Good at establishing and maintaining relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • Technology savviness and willing to try out new ideas
  • The successful candidate will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills as they will be expected to co-ordinate the vendor payments process and to provide guidance / assistance to the other departments making payments to suppliers.
