The Role:

As an Operations Project Accountant within our Fund Accounting team, you'll enjoy a wide range of responsibilities, with a principle objective of providing accounting expertise (predominantly in the areas of Fund Accounting and Investment Accounting) to various projects and change initiatives across the organisation. We have a busy project schedule on the horizon over the coming months, and on a day-to-day basis you'll find yourself involved with activities such as:

  • ensuring that Accounting project requirements are prepared and implemented efficiently and effectively;
  • assisting Finance Change and Project Managers in gaining an understanding of the requirements to support project delivery;
  • assisting with the operational delivery of designated projects, including the monitoring of progress via accurate and timely MI suitable for a range of internal stakeholders; and
  • ensuring project deliveries achieve the required standards of quality within specified constraints of time and cost.

You'll also represent the Accounting department at various meetings and working groups, providing updates to senior management on progress towards deliverables, and escalating significant risks, issues and dependencies as they arise.

What we're looking for:

As a qualified accountant, with familiarity with project management methodologies, you'll have a proven track record of delivering process change ideally within a Financial Services or similar environment.  It's important that you have a good understanding of key financial reporting processes, finance systems & data, and an awareness of risks & controls relevant to Financial Services organisations.  Ideally, you'll also have experience of investment and/or fund accounting, with at least a basic understanding of different investment classes, familiarity with bonds, and knowledge of premiums and claims cycles.

Just as important as your technical expertise is an ability to think creatively, with a passion for suggesting and implementing novel solutions to any problems which may arise.  We love working with good communicators who can provide concise and effective updates to managers and other project stakeholders when required.  If you think this sounds like your perfect role, we'd love to hear from you.
