The Finance Department is critical to our continued success and growth and as such we are looking for an exceptional Head of Financial Accounts who will have the same passion and drive as the organisation to strive for excellence.


The Role:

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer you will:

• Lead the Financial Accounts team with responsibility for their management and development.

• Lead the preparation and completion of statutory NHS accounts and returns in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) within Department of Health timescales.

• Be responsible for NHSI Reporting, Treasury Management, Asset Management, Oracle System Management, Charitable Funds and VAT ensuring accurate and relevant advice is provided to users of this service.

• Support Audit Committee, Charitable Funds Committee, and Capital Management Group.

• Develop and continuing to review Trust policies in relation to Financial Services ensuring the policies are adhered to across the Trust.

• Provide a source of financial expertise across the trust on technical accounting issues and statutory requirements.


The person will be:

• A qualified accountant with a proven track record of success at senior level
• Proven leadership skills, and an ability to motivate and guide the team.
• Flair for influencing and negotiating in high pressure situations whilst building strong and lasting relationships.
