Financial Controller
Legal services business based in the Sale area is looking to recruit a Financial Controller due to the growth of the business. This is a newly created role and will report to the Senior Management Team.
This role offers an opportunity to develop a finance structure by implementing policies, procedures and streamlining processes. The role will be very hands on but will also offer the opportunity to work with senior management and stakeholders.
Duties of the role will include:
- Management of a current team of 5 consisting of Accounts Assistant, Ledger Clerks and Accounts Admin
- Reviewing of existing team to assess effectiveness and development
- Reviewing of external assistance in connection to finance and implementing changes to integrate finance internally as an end to end function within the business
- Developing and implemting full month end procedures within the business, streamlining monthly reporting on P&L, presenting full commentary on management accounts to senior management and stakeholders
- Full budget and forecasting monthly
- You will also be responsible for VAT returns, year end and statutory accounting
- Overseeing the monthly payroll
- Responsible for working with the banks including a possible transfer to a new bank
- Identifying areas within the business that could allow for cost savings
Background and experience required for this role:
- Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA
- Min 4 years PQE
- Experience of managing, developing and implementing changes with a team
- Excellent communication skills, both to senior management, non-finance professionals and stakeholders
- Experience of reporting on a monthly and adhoc basis to management
- Be a hands on experienced financial controller
- Experience of process implementation and development is essential
- Exposure to either the legal, insurance or medical sectors would be a benefit
