Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Controller to join an expansive technology business based in Bath working part time four days a week.

Full time salary up salary up to 40,000 plus benefits.

The Role


  • 1: Safeguard the company's assets, maintain accurate and reliable financial records and support profitable business growth through the provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial information.
  • 2: Work with Senior Management to aide in analysis of key strategic issues. Use knowledge of the business to help make decisions and deploy resources effectively to achieve business goals.
  • Establish, develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all managers, staff, customers and suppliers of the business as well as external stakeholders.

    • Essential Job Functions - Financial

    • Responsible for all aspects of the finance department, financial transactions and records.
    • Ensure that the financial records are up-to-date and accurate. Primary duties include supplier payment runs, Supplier reconciliations, VAT Returns
    • Manage the cash cycle and ensure that cash flow forecasts are timely, inclusive and as accurate as possible.
    • Produce monthly Management Information and ad-hoc reports and analyses when required and requested.
    • Become an expert with the company's financial systems and take responsibility for the development of the system, controls and procedures.
    • Work with the Finance Director in developing a reporting, forecasting, planning and budgeting cycle suitable to the needs of the business.
    • Be proactive in the continuous development of a high-performance finance function, fully integrated with and supporting the business.

    Essential Job Functions - Strategic

    • Be prepared to champion change and drive through new initiatives.
    • Think creatively to offer new ideas for ways we can operate and new things we can do.
    • Provide support for the Directors, provide backup and analysis for projects and help implement plans.
    • Assist Senior Management in making good choices and offer alternative options through in-depth intelligent research and analysis.
    • Understand the importance of accurate detail while retaining sight of the strategic picture.

    Leadership of finance function

    • Take responsibility for, lead, motivate and manage the finance team, working with them to ensure that they understand what is expected of them.
    • Communicate with all members of the company honestly, openly and truthfully.


    Skills and Qualifications

    • A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
    • Strong Excel
