We are currently recruiting for a Credit Team Leader to join a large and dynamic finance team on a permanent basis in a well established FMCG Manufacturer based in the heart of Manchester.
Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will be working within a strong team of 4 within a larger wider finance team.
The ideal candidate must have strong people skills, comfortable in a client facing environment, and work well under pressure. You will be required to control specific sections of accounts within the sales ledger and facilitate a high level of cash flow and minimize levels of overdue debt.
The challenging role will include numerous duties including:
- Chasing debt by telephone, post and email
- Reducing debtor days
- Processing and generating reminder letters and statements
- Utilising task-list based reminder cycle
- Daily and monthly reporting
- Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices
- Negotiating settlement of accounts
- Dealing with incoming calls and enquiries
- Responding and dealing with incoming emails and post
- Liaising with other members of staff and co-ordinating work effectively
Requirements
- Have a strong background in Credit Control
- You should be results driven and able to set and achieve your own targets
- Outstanding written, negotiation and interpersonal skills especially on the telephone.
- Can work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks at any one time.
- Maintain a courteous and professional approach in all situations using effective questioning, active influencing and negotiating skills.
- Escalate issues through appropriate channels in a timely manner
- Good knowledge of Sage Line50 and Excel are essential within this role.
