Financial Accountant

Dynamic and Ambitious Health Sector Service Business

London

£40,000 - £45,000

An exciting opportunity to join the UK subsidiary of a highly successful US based Fortune 100 organisation, which possesses far reaching international experience. Our client supports government health programmes as they make inroads into the rapidly growing Accountable Care Systems market in the UK, by providing systems, capabilities and IT infrastructure, to deliver care that is more coordinated and consistent.

This is a dynamic organisation looking to recruit a number of highly capable finance professionals. This role will appeal to a part or newly qualified accountant with financial and management accounting experience, who thrives in an environment of constant change, with the emphasis on adaptability, proactivity and the ability to deliver high quality results.

The Role

The Financial Accountant will focus on preparing the monthly management accounts, assisting in the process of adapting the reporting processes to meet the Group’s requirements. This will involve reporting to a newly appointed Finance Manager and working closely with the local management team. The job holder will need to work closely with the US Finance team to help in managing the integration of systems with Peoplesoft in the US. At the same time, the Financial Accountant will be involved in accounting and reporting projects across the growing UK operation and may well be seconded to work on potential new bids. In such a dynamic and fast changing environment, it is likely that role responsibilities will change as the organisation develops and we want to appoint an individual who will happily embrace such rapid change. The job is based in London and is likely to involve some travel as required.

The Person

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic part or newly qualified finance professional with experience of both financial accounting and the preparation of monthly management accounts and forecasts. Previous involvement in a contract or project accounting environment would be an asset along with exposure to businesses with large mobile workforces such as airline or retail. A background in the NHS could be useful but we are happy to consider candidates from a variety of backgrounds in the public or private sectors and from a professional practice or service industry background. Other useful experience could include new business start-ups, mergers and acquisitions and involvement in complex bidding processes. Sound IT skills including accounting software and Excel are a must and will be combined with the ability to present information clearly and simply. Personal qualities will include the ability to prioritise and manage expectations. Strong attention to detail and high quality standards are vital and in addition, the person appointed must be comfortable with a ‘hands on’ role, and the ability to meet deadlines. If you are looking for a better opportunity to showcase your talents and the excitement of a fast moving ever changing environment, this is an ideal job.
