Senior Commercial / FP&A Finance Analyst - 6 month interim
West London - Retail / Leisure

Our Client, a highly profitable, market leading retail organisation is looking to source a Senior Commercial Analyst to join their team on a 6 month fixed term contract.

This position will involve working closely with both the senior UK management team and the Group FP&A team and will be focused on supporting the delivery of projects that underpin key strategic business initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
-Develop and implement, with guidance, a post-investment review process that tracks budgeted EBITDA Enhancing Capex initiatives, interim and final, reporting key risks and opportunities for senior management to act upon and lessons for future investments.
-Work as a key business partner with senior management (from Operations, Pricing, Property, Commercial and Business Innovation) to develop business cases - project financials and business reports - that assess a number of new business opportunities
-Develop routine reporting processes to track the financial performance of key strategic business priorities, ultimately feeding into an integrated, automated (where possible) and robust reporting process
-Complete capex proposal templates, with stakeholders, to gain Group approval ( as required)
-Enhance forecasting processes on specific KPIs ensuring relevant management are fully involved and clear on accountabilities
-Provide pre implementation analysis and research for new innovations and initiatives, covering potential business impact, key insights, conclusions and recommendations
-Define, implement, collate and distribute relevant reporting and analysis to support trials and evaluation processes for new innovations and initiatives, covering business impact, emerging trends, key insights, conclusions and recommendations
-Enhance forecasting processes on specific KPI's and ensuring relevant management are fully involved and clear on accountabilities
-Identify business trends and conduct further analysis to improve the understanding of factors behind changes and trends, providing insights, conclusions and recommendations
-Conduct pre and post implementation analysis of capital investments to evaluate performance, providing detailed summaries, conclusions and insights
-Take a leading role in the interaction with Group FP&A counterparts
-Provide monthly variance analysis and appropriate commentary that adds to business insight and decision making
-Assist in preparation of budgets with stakeholders to best in class standards and timelines
-Effective use of business planning and analysis tools to deliver accurate and relevant financial analysis to accurately forecast the relevant KPIs

The successful candidate will be ACA/CIMA Qualified with relevant Post-Qualified experience in a Commercial Finance/FP&A business partnering role in a consumer focussed, multi-site retail business (although ACA/ACCA candidates may be considered if they have sufficient commercial finance experience).You will be highly focused and able to work well in a team whilst maintaining a high standard. Demonstrable experience within an analytical role is essential, along with having a commercial understanding of how a successful multi - site business operates. Experience of developing business cases / project delivery in a fast-paced environment is also required. You will also be familiar with a range of IT systems and be highly proficient with Excel.
