Our client, a large Engineering Consultancy based in Central London, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team for a 6 month Fixed-Term Contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chief Accountant for all Month End closing activities in compliance with company accounting policies and application of IFRS/FRS102

  • Responsible for all statutory reporting and compliance issues for specific Legal Entities.

  • Drive standardisation of accounting processes & recording of transactions in collaboration with Global Centre.

  • Monitor share capital development and dividends, making sure that equity and dividend payment rules are followed and are legally compliant (e.g. thin capitalization rules, limits to dividends, WHT on dividends, dividend reporting).

  • Monitor cash flow development, making sure that internal long-term funding (loans/deposits) or capital adjustments are properly arranged & authorised.

  • Oversee tax compliance and support tax reviews, preparation of tax reports and tax calculations for annual group & statutory accounts (together with Tax Manager).

  • Coordinate and facilitate on Internal Control matters, prepare companies for Internal Control visits and actively participate in Group Internal Control visits.

  • Act as main contact point for general accounting processes (RtR) and group reporting towards the shared service centre. This includes providing input for specific accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions, investments and asset reviews, WIP, revenue recognition, cost of sales adjustments and querying non-standard or complex journal entries.

  • Oversee and sign off reconciliations of major balance sheet accounts

  • Check all journal entries on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accruals are accurate and complete

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Good excel and strong systems skills

  • Solid experience in a global Finance organisation ideally working for an international company.

  • Good understanding of all key business processes across functional areas.

  • Experience working in Oracle is desirable.
