Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a prestigious, well known PLC business in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire for one of their sites. Due to an approaching retirement, they have a rare vacancy for a Purchase ledger Manager to join their team on a permanent basis where you will oversee the entire function and manage a team of 9. Although the operation already runs quite smoothly, the company are very open to change and the role will also allow the successor of this department to enhance and make further improvements to existing processes.
Duties will include:
- Manage relationships with Suppliers (c1200 active accounts) including an active role in promoting adherence to purchasing policy, balanced with the flexibility to cater for urgent business needs
- Manage and control all International, European, and Inter Company payments
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Purchase Ledger, i.e. setting up new suppliers, change of banks details, lapsing old suppliers, etc
- Creation of both the Monthly and Weekly BACS transmission, circa 1,000 suppliers per month
- Maintain and control the Supplier Rebate account and monthly reconciliation including the processing of supplier invoices
- Provide accurate and timely fiscal information to the Finance team on a monthly basis.
- Month and Year End processing
- Lead the team to ensure a high level of payment on time through timely document entry, a reduction in the delays caused by systematic queries and appropriately timed payment runs
- Identify and recruit employees with the right potential
- Performance and Development reviews carried out on a regular and ongoing basis
- To ensure individuals are trained and developed effectively to be able to carry out their roles
- Responsible for the entire Purchase Ledger Team including the Reception function and in-house cleaner
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2 years in a purchase ledger management role
- Experience of dealing with International Suppliers and payments
- Experience of Change Management would be an advantage
- A medium level of competence in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in managing larger teams would be advantageous
