Reed Finance continue to support a growing media based business in Colchester who are currently seeking an Audit and Assurance Manager to manage and improve their reporting and statutory obligations

This newly created Audit and Assurance Manager position will take full ownership of all period end close activities, including Group Reporting and Balance Sheet control as well as ownership for the Statutory Reporting process for the Group of companies.

The Audit and Assurance Manager will report into the Head of Accounting, duties and responsibilities include:

- Manage the financial accounts activities to ensure strong balance sheet control

- Manage the completion of Statutory Accounts filing, and group reporting, for all UK and Ireland Operations, developing a skills matrix for direct and indirect reports, and mentoring full skills and knowledge enhancement

- Undertake a full Statutory entity alignment review process, to ensure House Rules are established for format, population and delivery of Stats, in partnership with the Group Reporting teams.

- Manage the BS control review process and identification of material risks and opportunities

- First Review and impact assessment of Bertelsmann, Legislative and legal accounting changes, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure full adoption across related entities

- Proactively assessing IFRS standard changes such as IFRS15, preparing internal documents for roll out.

- Full Review of Departmental Procedures, introduction of House Rule templates, and managing production / update of procedures to support future transition to Shared Service Centre operation


This Audit and Assurance Manager role will suit a technically and commercially focused CCAB qualified professional who has had previous experience in an auditing capacity and possesses excellent experience of preparing Statutory accounts and statutory reports.

Strong system and IT skills are essential here in addition to excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous experience in practice in an auditing role will be very beneficial also. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business.
