Financial Accountant

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, our client is looking for an intelligent, forward thinking recently Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) to join their growing and reputable business as a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

This job would suit an ambitious qualified accountant who is looking to join a business that is instantly recognisable and continuously looking to develop further, it would suit someone looking to make their first move into industry from practice.

This individual will have strong communication skills, necessary to engage, influence and challenge successfully at all levels, as processes are ever changing and this individual needs to be able to deal with that.

Having been one of the rare businesses that has actually improved and grown over the last few years, this well-known business developed many parts of the Group both in terms of technology and processes.

The successful incumbent will ideally be a practice trained qualified Accountant, either ACA or ACCA, who is very much a confident self-starter, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. This role is seen as a platform to bigger things within the businesses and you will be ultimately responsible for the accounts of multiple divisions.

Duties will include:

  • Partnering a division to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial numbers
  • Completion of weekly accounting processes
  • Co-ordination of divisional balance sheet reviews and ensure the integrity of the numbers
  • Multiple VAT returns for divisional accounting
  • Inspire and motivate the other members of the team with passion, energy and commitment
  • Ensure and monitor compliance with internal controls
  • Preparation of weekly results and KPI's
  • Share best practice and help other team members to achieve your common goals
  • Support divisions, ensuring all processes are followed
