The Company

Brewster Pratap are recruiting for a small/medium sized manufacturing business based in Sheffield who are looking to recruit for a Finance Manager. This is a senior management position and will be part of the Senior Operations Team

 

The Job

This job will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for running the finance and administration department and having overall control of the IT department, also being key to the development and implementation of robust systems to integrate the ERP system

Design and development of new additional reporting and control systems in conjunction with the IT Manager and the senior management team to assist in the development of all aspects of the business going forward, including but by no means limited to Capacity Planning and resource improvement projects.

Production of Monthly management accounts and financial management reports within 10 working days of period end from finalised TB.

Review of management accounts for anomalies, correction of issues.

Full responsibility for balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.

Management of accounts team including 1 x AAT qualified accountant and ledger/payroll clerks as well as IT department

Annual organisation/negotiation of insurances, credit insurances, pensions, life assurance, health cover, etc.

Preparation of year-end audit pack and interaction with auditors.

Review of year-end tax computations.

Preparation of R and D tax claims.

Management of relationship with bank especially foreign exchange forward contracts.

Production of Budgets on an annual basis in conjunction with rest of management team.

Good interaction with all levels of personnel from the board of directors to the shop floor.

Review of monthly payments and cost control.

Review and approval on quarterly VAT returns.

Preparation of monthly salaries using Sage 50 payroll software including payment of pension contributions and year end payroll requirements.

Liaison with identified key suppliers including forward energy contracts and company communications.

Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.

Ensure full compliance with all relevant financial regulations, legislation and standards

 

The Person

Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA.

Good management accounts and costing background in a manufacturing business

Good systems knowledge and be capable of specifying new systems to assist in the management and control of critical operations.

Familiar with production of monthly accounts pack and reports.

Experience of running a payroll.

Compliance with VAT, Inland Revenue, pension requirements.

Familiarity with all year end requirements in relation to audit and tax compliance.
