A high growth Construction and Projects business have created a new role for a Commercial Management Accountant due to a number of new contract wins and to support the succession planning within the finance team. The ideal candidate will be part qualified/newly qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or overseas equivalent) and eager to complete their studies.
Based out of their Manchester City Centre headquarters, with some travel involved, you will be involved in the preparation of the management accounts for a c£30 million turnover business unit, ensuring of the production of timely and accurate accounts and the profitability of the business unit.
In this extremely visible and commercial role the successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of management accounts through to trial balance for the contract
- Preparation of monthly profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow for the contract
- Liaison with parents on inter-company balances and invoicing
- Monthly reporting of contract results to the Management Board
- Liaison with the shared service ledger processing teams to ensure timely and effective processing of transactions on the financial system
- Support commercial teams by proactive engagement in the management of key contract balances including WIP, payments on account and cost accruals
- Work with contract commercial and operational management to drive contract performance improvement
- Development and implementation of financial systems to support the requirements of the business
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
Key skills preferred are:
- AAT/Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Computerised Accounting Systems
- Excellent Communicator both verbal and written and a strong contributor in meetings
- Has strong personal drive and commitment to delivery of results
