Sellick Partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Lead Corporate Accountant to join the Finance team of a large public sector organisation based in Newcastle. This will be a Fixed Term position due to last initially 12 months.
The Lead Corporate Accountant will support the Financial Controller in managing the effective and efficient provision of Financial Accountancy services for the organisation and its clients.
Responsibilities:
- Overall management and statutory reporting to Management Team, Board and Finance and Resource Committees including consolidation
- Co-ordination of the budget process
- Bookkeeping, management accounting and statutory reporting for the organisation and clients including capital investment;
- Balance sheet controls;
- Forecasting;
- New business initiatives including financial support for business cases(including capital investment proposals), modelling, VFM initiatives; and
- Cash flow and treasury management
- Support the Financial Controller to liaise with lead business partners to ensure good financial control is maintained and meaningful reporting is available for Executive Team, Boards and committees
- Manage the Corporate Accountants and Finance Client Technician effectively, ensuring employees are motivated and developed to deliver the requirements of the service and to achieve corporate service targets and objectives
Essential Criteria:
- Professionally qualified (ACA/CIPFA/CIMA/ACCA), with demonstrable:
- Knowledge of the financial standards for Groups and Companies including but not limited to, Registered Providers and Charities.
- Experience of producing statutory accounts
- Diplomatic, assertive and demonstrable record of working collaboratively with developed interpersonal skills to support business partners in setting strategy and developing business cases
- Competent and able to communicate complex financial matters to a diverse audience, including those from a non-finance background
This is an urgent position, so the ideal candidate will be immediately available, or available at 1 weeks' notice, however the client is willing to wait up to 4 weeks maximum for exceptional candidates.
