Robertson Bell are recruiting for a Financial Controller to head up a small team within an Educational organisation. This role is based near Croydon and is a newly created role due to growth and development across the business.
The key responsibilities for the Financial Controller will be:
*Taking control of all Financial Accounting responsibilities, ensuring a smooth year end process and completion of audit
*Manage and develop the team including monitoring staff performance and providing a good level of support for them
*Business partnering with Heads of Departments and advising and explaining budgetary variances in a way that non-finance staff can understand.
*Ensure system operations are working to the best of its capability
*Deputising for the Head of Finance and overall management of the finance department.
The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant (CCAB) but part-qualified and qualified by experience will still be considered. A commercially minded and proactive approach is key for this role to thrive in the team alongside the fast-paced and forward thinking team. Previous management or supervisory experience is highly desirable as well as a background in the education sector, however, candidates from all sectors should apply.
