Financial Controller - Manufacturing - Permanent – Swindon

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a UK Financial Controller within an innovative and emerging division of a global engineering organisation. The Financial Controller reports into the Group FD and divisional MD and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high performance finance function and astute Business Partnering.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Supporting the strategic direction and operational management of the business through timely and accurate financial information, insight and challenge.
  • Verifying that strong financial controls are in place and working effectively to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate risks are identified, reviewed and managed through effective risk mitigation action plans and ownership of risks.
  • Ensure robust financial reporting and forecasting processes are in place and operating effectively.
  • Supporting the MD and Senior Management team with financial information and insight to help ensure best business performance and delivery of the 10 year plan.
  • Responsibility for the annual budget setting process.
  • Work with the Finance and Account Manager to help shape the businesses financial systems and processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and are able to meet the evolving business requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, Assurance & Risk and external auditors and Tax authorities for all Fuel Cells’ finance, accounting, tax and treasury matters.

Experience required:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA Accountant, demonstrating strong technical knowledge.
  • Exceptional Business Partnering skills, able to build rapport and quickly establish credibility with business leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills.
  • Self driven and motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to work independently with a readiness to be accountable and make decisions.
  • Experience of operating within a global company, ideally with manufacturing sector experience.
  • SAP experience beneficial; Advanced Excel required.

In return you will receive a salary of between £55k-£65k + bonus + benefits.
