Assistant Accountant

A new opportunity has arisen for a graduate calibre, diligent and tenacious candidate to join a consultancy business in central Reading as an Assistant Accountant.

The company is a market leader within its sector, and is internationally renowned for offering the best-in-class consultancy services to its clients, they wish to appoint similar, like minded individuals who would be eager to share their same work ethos.

Core duties:

• Liaising with the project teams to provide financial research and initial costing of projects during the tender process
• Establishing good communication with Project teams is essential
• Preparing regular financial updates for the project and finance teams. Typically, this would include a variance analysis, review and follow-up with relevant people
• The role will assist with internal and external audits
• Providing in-country support to local finance staff, and developing strong relationships to better understand financial implications of running the project through conducting a quarterly "health check" on the projects and reporting to stakeholders

Skills and qualifications

• Minimum degree level 2.1
• Studying towards ACCA / CIMA/ ACA desirable
• Experience in a project accounting position with specific focus on financial accounting reporting, controls and management systems and processes
• Must be able to demonstrate experience of pro-active business partnering and driving improvement within the business
