A global property development company is looking to recruit a Property Development Analyst to join their London-based head office.
The key focus of this role will be to prepare and analyse detailed development feasibilities / investment appraisals, forecasting and producing financial analysis for forthcoming development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the gathering of information and preparation of development investment appraisals and presentation of these to senior management.
- Analysis of cost and income information to facilitate strategic decision-making.
- Sensitivity analysis and option generating.
- Financial modelling and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Liaise with all areas of the business and external sources to prepare meaningful inputs into the feasibility and challenge assumptions vs. market or internal comparisons.
- Liaison with JVs and development partners on all asset issues and liaise with and manage external agents and consultants in co-ordination with Development Directors
- Ensure all financial and non-financial aspects of Joint Venture Agreements and other legal agreements with 3rd parties are complied with. Input into structuring legal agreements to ensure deals are accurately reflected and in line with the financials.
- Monitor financial performance and review market data on major competitors and other residential projects to assist with the financial aspects of deal structuring
- For projects under construction, monitor, update and report on changes to feasibilities on a monthly basis. Preparation and monitoring of project budgets, long term forecasts and cash flows. Review of development accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy
- Control of Development spend in accordance with budgets, final sign-off on invoices and the management of invoicing admin
Applicant requirements:
- Post-qualification accountancy experience, preferably in the Retail or Property industries
- Experience in Development Analysis and Retail Property Acquisitions
- Advanced Spreadsheet Modelling skills
- Ability to understand, interrogate and confidently challenge detailed cost plans, budgets and income forecasts to a high degree of forensic detail
- Proven experience of fostering effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to travel at short notice.
