A leading distributor and manufacturer of specialist building products in the UK, Europe and the Middle East,(FTSE 250) is currently looking for a Corporate Development Director to support the Group's expansion and portfolio optimisation plans.
You will be reporting in to the Group Director of Corporate Development and have demonstrable experience of leading acquisition and/or divestment processes.
This is an ideal opportunity to enter into a senior corporate development role, with the additional potential to move into other senior finance or senior general management roles across the business in the future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Building acquisition pipelines
- Drafting acquisition target reviews
- Detailed financial analysis including building financial models
- Leading all aspects of acquisition execution and integration, including principal to principal deal structure / SPA terms negotiation
- Tracking business performance and synergy delivery post-deal
- Development and delivery of strategic growth plans
- Undertaking in depth market and sector reviews
- Development and execution of portfolio reviews
- Managing divestment projects
- Managing restructuring and turnaround of underperforming businesses
KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Degree qualified, possessing at least a 2.1 degree qualification in a finance and/or business related degree
- Ideally also possesses an accountancy qualification within a leading firm
- A significant track record of advisory experience, typically a 6 years of more, from either a mid-tier investment bank with a small/medium sized business focus, a boutique corporate finance advisor, a corporate development team within a major organisation, or the corporate finance or due diligence team of a Big 4 accountancy firm
- Experience of managing small to medium sized acquisitions and divestments across several markets
- Experience with clients from a distribution environment or a business to business service provider or supplier would be an advantage
- Highly influential with strong negotiating skills.
