Investigo are proud to be running an exclusive advertising campaign for Eakin Group, in search of a Director of Finance for the Ostomy Division, based in Cardiff.

The Group is one of Northern Ireland’s leading healthcare companies. Founded as T G Eakin Ltd in 1974, the Group has a successful track record as a medical device manufacturer of high quality skin protection and ancillary products for use in ostomy and wound care. Pelican Healthcare specialises in the manufacture and distribution of ostomy bags and related products. Respond Healthcare provides home delivery services of ostomy care products across the UK and the Instruments Division manufactures speciality products used in feminine healthcare and ENT surgery. The Group exports to over 30 countries, operates from several locations across the UK and more recently Japan, and has received numerous business awards.

Role Description:

The Director of Finance – Ostomy, will develop and direct the Group’s financial management, control and reporting environment of the Group’s Ostomy Division and will have responsibility for co-ordinating and managing these activities within the Group reporting directly to the CFO.

The successful candidate will work with existing accounts departments personnel and managing director(s) and will implement all aspects of the Ostomy Division’s financial strategy, including tax planning as agreed by the Board of Directors, to meet specific business and financial targets. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of Ostomy Division and Group business and corporate finance strategies.

In addition, they will be responsible for the provision of relevant, timely and accurate financial and operating information, including agreed KPIs and forecasts, necessary for the direction of the Ostomy Division.

Candidate attributes:

• A CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working at senior financial management and strategic level, in a specialist healthcare manufacturing environment, or equivalent.
• Detailed understanding of manufacturing cost models and related KPIs; including the design of bespoke cost systems to deliver business objectives.
• Strong track record of managing high-performing finance teams, as well as strategically contributing at SMT level.
• Good commercial judgement including reviewing and negotiation of contracts, as well as the ability to support the executive directors and senior management.
• Proven ability to persuade and influence others, as well as the ability to demonstrate high level of emotional intelligence.

The position will be based in Cardiff but the appointee will be expected to travel to Group’s offices within the UK (including Belfast) and overseas, where necessary.
