Deputy Finance Director
£83,943 - £104,959
Barnet Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is one of five CCGs that form the North Central London CCGs partnership. The CCG manages a budget of over £500m to secure the best health and wellbeing services for the Barnet population, working with a range of healthcare providers in order to commission services that meet the needs of the community. The CCG is led by a Chief Officer and a Board comprising local GPs, other clinicians and lay members.
Barnet CCG is now looking to appoint to the lead finance post within the organisation. As Deputy Director of Finance, you will report dually to the Chief Officer and Board for Barnet CCG and also to the Chief Finance Officer for the North Central London region.
You will have significant autonomy in this post and play a full role as a member of the CCG’s new leadership team. Barnet CCG has had financial challenges but met all financial targets in 2016/17. You will have a pivotal role in working with the new CCG and North Central London leadership teams to continue the improvement trajectory. In addition to your role within the CCG, you’ll also form part of the senior finance leadership team across the North Central London region more widely, with the opportunities for shared practice, collaborations and professional development that offers.
To succeed, you’ll be a qualified accountant with a broad background in financial management. You’ll have first class leadership skills and be able to communicate well with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll have a strong focus on improvement and change management, working with your team to develop and drive forwards robust financial plans and playing a key role in the CCG’s performance. Whilst an NHS background would be helpful, it is not essential.
The autonomy and Board level exposure offered in this role represents an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to take a clear career step towards their first Finance Director post, whilst still benefiting from the support and development of an experienced CFO within the wider North Central London structure.
Closing Date for Applications will be midnight on Tuesday 26th September.
