Cello Group is an AIM listed strategic marketing organisation which serves the pharmaceutical sector alongside having operations in the consumer space and a growing division providing social media analysis. Headquartered in London they are now a c.£90m T/O business delivering £11m profit, and boast a stable financial position. The London office houses most of the senior management team and the group finance team which has established leadership and operates with effective systems and processes. As a result of some recent changes and a desire to look at additional project work in the medium-to-long term they are now looking to recruit a Group Accountant.

Detailed Job Description

As the Group Accountant at Cello Group you will own the monthly reporting cycle, including consolidation, support the year-end process, and help to deliver support to senior management; including the CEO. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering the consolidated monthly reporting for the group under IFRS to meet both internal and external requirements;
  • Supporting the annual group budgeting and forecasting process for both internal and external requirements;
  • Taking ownership of the intercompany reporting across the subsidiaries;
  • Maintaining and developing the group's accounting policies and processes, taking into account reporting standards changes as appropriate;
  • Assisting with complex tax and treasury matters, in particular supporting the Financial Controller as necessary;
  • Supporting acquisitions and disposals, as well as post-acquisition integration of new entities;
  • Having a leading role in the Year-End audit process including acting as a key point of contact for the auditors;
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by senior management, including the CFO and CEO.

Candidate's Profile

As a strong applicant for this Group Accountant role you will:

  • Be an ACA qualified accountant with a strong academic record;
  • Demonstrate strong audit training, ideally from a top tier firm;
  • Show relevant exposure to multi-currency consolidations, preferably within an industry environment;
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and an ability to work accurately and to deliver to strict timescales;
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and develop by being inquisitive and looking to broaden the role over time;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels, specifically with senior management;
  • Be comfortable in a smaller team environment and working in head office.
