Sellick Partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Financial Reporting Accountant to join a well-established PLC based in Sunderland.

Sellick Partnership are currently engaged in the recruitment of a Financial Reporting Accountant to join a well-established PLC based in Sunderland. Our client is looking for an individual to join their growing finance team to work closely with the Head Office Accountants and ensure high quality financial outputs deliverable to Head Office Accounts Manager and Group Accounts. The role is responsible for the day to day management of a team member.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coach 1 member of staff
  • Co-ordinate with Head Office Accountants to provide ancillary schedules for financial outputs
  • Financial outputs defined as
  • Monthly management accounts including; Monthly estimates, DB management accounts, Central commentary, Issue based reconciliations, Central management accounts pack
    • Quarterly forecasts
    • Annual budget
    • MTP including ancillary schedules
    • Early indications
    • Year end outlook
  • Continual review of head office accounting processes to identify efficiencies / improvements and ensure effective and efficient working practices are adopted
  • Implementation of changes in Central / Departmental structures
  • Continual reassessments of BilMoG and compliance procedures
  • Involved in ad-hoc projects as defined by Head Office Accounts Manager

Essential experience:

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) /university degree or qualified by experience
  • 3 years post qualified experience
  • Excellent people skills with ability to build relationships with various
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and identify key issues to stakeholders
  • Ability to respond to adhoc requests and reprioritise workload
  • Good analytical skills
  • Pro-active planning skills
