Job Introduction

Trinity Mirror Group plc is seeking to recruit a Commercial Analyst to work within MEN. Working closely with the commercial Managing Director, this role will focus on developing and driving the commercial strategy of the business.

Role Responsibility:

  • Working closely with the sales management team and supporting finance in producing weekly advertising revenue forecasts.
  • Target setting and bonus calculations, ensuring that the scheme is applied accurately and consistently.
  • Control of the advertising rate-cards ensuring that they continue to meet the strategic aims of the business.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of rates and discounts within the advertising booking system.
  • Development of short term advertising promotions.
  • Supporting the production of bespoke sales presentations by recommending and monitoring pricing and discounts.
  • Monitoring and control of digital yields in line with the group pricing framework.
  • Pro-active analysis of advertising revenue, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • Assisting finance with the review and subsequent implementation of local advertising quarterly re-forecasts and budgets.
  • Working closely with the Commercial Managing Director and local Finance Director.

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Will possess a CIMA qualification or be working towards it.
  • Enjoy a hands-on role in a busy finance/ commercial environment.
  • Able to influence and manage people both directly and indirectly.
  • Numerically and highly commercially analytical and literate.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data-mining tools.
