Your new company
A major Shared Service Centre in the Local Government sector is seeking to appoint a Financial Transactions Manager for a high profile project. This role is a one year fixed term contract.

Your new role
You will be directly responsible for the delivery of a range of finance transactional and technical finance services to Local Government, specifically income and debt management, procure to pay, financial and systems accounting. You will lead and manage an efficient and effective Financial Transaction Service that constantly delivers to SLA requirements and lead by example to inspire the Shared Services Finance Team in delivering quality and efficient financial services. You will be involved in continuous service improvement and seek out opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and team performance.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will need strong technical financial accounting knowledge and experience of managing large teams, ideally within a shared service centre environment. You will have a track record of delivering operational finance services within agreed budgets and headcount. You will demonstrate high level staff management skills including coaching, informal mentoring and on-going staff development to ensure succession planning and career progression within your team. Ideally a qualified accountant, your experience is more important than formal qualifications and "qualified by experience" accountants will be considered.
