Athwal Resourcing is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant with a group of companies operating within a high growth market.
The role is very varied and reports into the Finance Manager. You will be:
- Involved in the preparation of management accounts, month end reporting, posting journals as well as balance sheet reconciliations;
- Help with the budget preparation, analysis and reporting of variances between actual and forecasts;
- Involved in cashflow forecasting on a weekly basis;
- Assist with the management of the working capital of the business. Involved in the smooth running of the purchase ledger processing so all invoices/credits are correctly coded, the management of the payments via Bacs, resolving queries and disputes and ensuring that Company protocols are strictly adhered to;
- Reconcile all statements to the relevant Sage account, investigating and resolving any discrepancies;
- Liaise with operational managers to add value and investigate discrepancies;
- Maintain accrual and prepayment schedules and post journals as appropriate;
- Management of fixed asset register and related schedules and journals;
- Analyse and maintain overhead expenditure and generate monthly reports as required;
- Prepare and submit of external returns including VAT returns, PAYE etc;
- Carry out other adhoc projects as required and support the Finance Manager and other team members as the need arises.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Part-Qualified accountant CIMA ot AAT qualified;
- Previous hands on involvement in management accounts production is a must with job costing being an advantage;
- A solid understanding of 'book entries' will be required;
- Experience within a job costing environment would be an advantage;
- Experience with Sage or other accounting software package;
- Be advanced in the use of Excel spreadsheets;
- Have excellent attention to detail;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business;
- Have the ability to multi task and be able to cope with the pace of a volume driven busy accounts function.
