About Our Client
With Headquarters in London and field offices in 12 countries worldwide, this charity is dedicated to delivering their vision to those in need. Their aim is to tackle poverty by developing innovative and sustainable solutions enabling communities to live in dignity and independence. They are currently working in 70 countries and have live appeals to support causes such as the Syrian Crisis, European Refugee Crisis and Iraq Emergency appeal, to name a few.
Job Responsibilities:
- Being a key figure in delivering the strategic and operational goals on the charity
- Providing timely information and efficiencies so that the charity can maintain their programmatic impact on a sound financial basis.
- Overseeing the co-ordination of the organisation's strategy, budgets and performance reporting.
- Ensuring the on-going effectiveness of financial controls and processes are maintained and developed, including acting as the lead on regulatory compliance.
Preferred Skills:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA)
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Experience of funding streams to the charity sector, particularly;y in institutional grants
- Proven experience of line management and developing finance professionals
- Extensive knowledge of technical operating principles, practises and problems of governmental accounting, INGO accounting, budget control, procurement, collection, licensing, insurance claims and payroll administration procedures
- An understanding of Charity governance, statutory and compliance reporting including knowledge of international reporting standards (GAAP, SORP)
Personal Attributes:
- Technically strong accountant
- Flexible with their approach to working
- Evidence of proactively adding value through processes
- Confident line manager
- Hungry for success
- Commercially minded
- IT Literate (advanced excel, MS Office and financial software - ideally MS Nav)
