Regulatory Reporting Accountant

Our client, a financial services organisation experiencing exciting growth both organically and through acquisition, seeks a Regulatory Reporting Accountant to strengthen its expanding team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, the Regulatory Reporting Accountant will be responsible for the review and preparation of regulatory reporting requirements for the Group.
You will take responsibility for the completion and review of all reports created by the financial reporting team, ensuring that all regulatory returns such as MLA, COREP and other FCA returns meet requirements, are accurate and timely.
In addition, you will help review reporting procedures, identify process improvements and implement appropriate changes. As a key member of the team, you will also research changes to regulatory reporting requirements and advise on how best these can be addressed and implemented.

A prerequisite for the role will be a strong understanding of regulated banking and capital markets in the UK, together with regulatory reporting experience.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant ideally with some post qualification experience gained in a similar role. 
Whilst based in the City, regular travel to other operational sites will be expected, especially in the first 6 months.

Skills /  Experience / Attributes

• Qualified accountant - ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Strong understanding of regulated banking and capital markets in the UK
• Experience of regulatory reporting and knowledge of relevant requirements - MLA, COREP, FCA returns etc
• Excellent report writing and analytical skills
• Strong IT skills, especially Excel
