The Role
To define, lead, maintain and improve all aspects of the EMEA operations finance and accounting strategy, policies, systems, records, reporting and short and long term forecasts. To deliver these responsibilities with a “hands on” approach in both a timely and accurate manner. Act as the significant point of contact between EMEA Operations and the Global HQ Corporate Finance teams.
Produce financial models, performance reporting, credit control, cash flow and cash management to ensure that adequate liquidity exists at all times and that appropriate banking facilities are in place. To maximise the use of any surplus liquidity as and when arises.
Manage the timely and accurate production of company accounts and presenting the annual budget, coordinating all external inputs as appropriate. To maintain all financial records, books and returns as required by law. To act as Company Secretary for all UK Companies.
Control and make recommendations for the approval of capital expenditures and subsequent audit of the same to ensure that the returns on investment have been achieved. Also the disposal of capital equipment to ensure that proceeds are maximised.
Manage the continual appraisal and reporting of profitability and working capital investment. To analyse and interpret financial results, reports and statements and to manage any required actions as are appropriate.
As a member of the Senior Management team, provide financial advice and reporting and contribute to the formulation of the Company’s wider objectives, strategies and general management practices
The Candidate
With a recognised professional accountancy qualification – CIMA, ACA or ACCA you will possess over 10 years Finance experience, with a minimum 5 years experience in a senior finance management role within a large UK manufacturing subsidiary of an international group.
Extensive practice and use of International Financial Reporting Standards, including international accounting and tax procedures is a prerequisite.
You will be able to demonstrate a proven record of success in leading and motivating a Regional Finance team based in multiple countries.
Experience gained with rapidly changing/growing businesses with multiple operations/subsidiaries or foreign joint ventures would be advantageous
Although not essential, experience within a Big 4 practice would be desirable
You will possess the headroom and potential to progress to CFO of a global business in the longer term
