Senior Regional Accountant. Our client a leading international business seeks a qualified accountant as Senior Regional Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, to join its European Financial Services Group Head Office team.
You will be responsible for the management & development of a sub team of Accounting Professionals in the European Financial Support Group (EFSG) in addition to the normal duties of a Regional Accountant.
Lead team to deliver/maintain quality service and audit standards. Ensure the monthly Group Reporting Packs for the European countries are prepared accurately and on time.
Support, analyse and drive process improvements to enable EFSG and Shared Service Centre to maximize efficiency.
Manage SSC controls and processes ensuring efficient support for the business and compliance with standards.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*Drive, coordinate and prioritize project critical issues to resolution, leveraging from contacts within the business.
*Lead and support Shared Service Centre process improvement/development projects.
*Project manage and transition the standardized accounting functions into the SSC scope.
*Maintain strong internal controls across all SSC processes
*Management and development of the EFSG team, recruitment and succession planning.
*Lead team and drive the month end reporting cycle.
*Provide support/advice to EFSG team and site finance teams on reporting issues including US GAAP compliance.
*Monitor Shared Service Centre (SSC) set of KPI's for European sites to identify areas for concern/process improvements.
*Regular review of Balance Sheet Control reconciliations, investigating any reconciling items to clear in a timely manner or explain.
*Dealing with payment requests from site finance teams on a daily basis, manage SSC banking accesses in accordance with corporate policy and procedures (CP&P).
*Work closely with corporate/internal and external auditors.
*Lead or assist with European finance projects as and when required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience of managing and developing others
Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
ACA/ACCA/CIMA/equivalent Accounting Qualification
Degree level Education an advantage
Minimum 5 years work experience ideally for a large multi-national organisation
Experience working in a matrix structure would be of an advantage
