10191 - Accountant (Capital / Fixed Assets) Job Spec
Location: Peterlee, County Durham

Summary
Our client is a world-wide manufacturer of industrial, mining, construction & aggregate machinery. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.

The position exists with the Business Analysis section of the Business Resource Department (BR) at Peterlee. This section is responsible for product costing, new product investment, performance metrics and project analysis amongst other things. The Department itself, despite being small, is relatively self-contained and responsible for producing all aspects of financial and management information.

As the Accountant (Capital/Fixed Assets), you will have responsibilities centred around (but not limited to) the management of capital investments. Also included in the job remit are the compilation of performance metrics and product costing, as will the responsibility (which is common throughout the BR department), to be able to support other members roles, including Legal entity and audit when necessary. Job Duties/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
*Calculation of monthly material cost of goods sold, with variance analysis and grief resolution,
*Shop floor bonus calculation and R&D rate recovery.
*Capital expenditure forecasting, commissioning, impairment reporting auditing and disposal,
*Component/programme cost monitoring and analysis,
*Investment analysis for low to medium complexity initiatives.
*Ad-hoc projects including Legal Entity support, audit compliance testing, component / expense analysis.


Skills, experience & qualifications you WILL have:
*Bsc in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience,
*Part-Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA,
*Previous experience with Capital/Fixed Assets,
*Highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative,
*Good problem solving skills and a high level of numeracy,
*Good computer, organisational and communication skills are essential,
*Ability to work in a team based environment,
*Willingness to relocate and be mobile minded.

Skills, experience & qualifications you MAY have:
*Qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA,
*Advanced knowledge of various finance and business subjects.


Package
*Salary: up to £32,500 depending (on experience),
*Hours / Contract: Full-time / Permanent,
*Holiday: 25 Days + STAT per annum,
*Benefits: 10% Bonus, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Childcare Vouchers & Contributory Pension Scheme (contribution double by Company up to 10%)
*Travel: Not required with this role.
