Assistant Accountant

£16,000 - £17,500
Seymour John are currently working in an exclusive partnership with an engineering organisation based in tipton, to recruit a finance assistant on a permanent basis. The role has arisen due to a period of sustained growth, which has resulted in additional support being required to supplement both the finance manager and the finance team as a whole.
Reporting directly into the finance manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of customer invoices, whilst maintaining sales order records. In addition to the above, you will be required to match and post supplier invoices on a regular basis. You will play a key role in producing both the weekly and monthly payroll for a team of fifty staff. You will be required to maintain payroll records and submit HMRC and payroll information in a timely manner.
To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate must be actively studying towards becoming fully qualified in their AAT. A proven track record of streamlining transactional finance processes would be beneficial. Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll is essential as are strong excel skills (v-look ups and pivot tables)
