Stock Accountant

Retail led not for profit organisation is looking for a Stock Accountant to join for a period of 12 months possibly longer. The role is being recruited to on an interim basis while the manager focusses on a systems implementation project. It is important that the successful candidate has the ability to work in a decisive and independent manner. Equally this role offers to the opportunity to develop systems and processes skills in a fast paced predominantly retail focussed environment.

The role involves reviewing processes and recommending improvements to support controls, processing stock transfers, adjustments, write offs and returns in liaison with retail outlets, approving and processing invoices, producing stock specific reports, investigating discrepancies, verifying balance sheet accounts entries, supporting and covering for Stock Control Manager where appropriate.

You will need to have stock accounting experience, advanced Excel, exposure to reconciliations and experience of systems changes and implementations. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with key internal stakeholders are also key.
