Financial Controller

Based in Kent, my client is a large global business with a wide range of business interests and activities. Due to continued growth they are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to undertake the following pivotal role.

Financial Controller duties:

• Responsible for the financial management of various key geographical regions.
• Guiding country managers and finance teams on a variety of financial and technical matters.
• Management of monthly consolidated group reporting.
• Preparing interim and full year statutory accounts, compliant with IFRS.
• Continual development of reporting time lines and processes.
• The development of internal controls and best practice, as well as finance and reporting systems.
• Supporting the Group CFO with ongoing projects and initiatives across the group.
• Annual budgeting and forecasting duties.
• Supporting the CFO with aspects of Treasury management and reporting.
• Advising on various key tax issues.
• Undertaking ad hoc and regular audits (for both local finance functions and head office) to ensure best practice is continually applied, and updates/improvements are implemented where required.
• Some international travel to meet with and advise key stakeholders across the group.

Candidate requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant, ideally with experience gained from an audit firm.
• Proven ability to improve reporting, financial process, and systems.
• International experience would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of group consolidations.
• First class communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally on occasions.
