Internal Audit Manager

My client is a well established company who are keen to find an internal audit expert who can assess, develop and strengthen their internal controls and audit procedures. You'll review and confirm sound policy, procedures, systems, controls and documentation/records are in place, are sufficient and operationally sound to ensure compliance, highlighting potential non-compliance and/or determine remedial action where appropriate. Essentially, your role is to ensure that Group assets are safeguarded and that an adequate system of controls is in place, and you'll proactively undertake a programme of audits, examinations and risk reviews that seek to provide management and the Board with assurance that policy and procedures are fit for purpose and are operationally sound. This role is a high profile and independent position, reporting directly to the Board and Audit Committee, with the Finance Director's support. Travel is low, typically 4-5 days per month travelling to sites within the UK.
The successful candidate will be an internal auditor who has experience of establishing and improving internal audit processes. You will be ACA / ACCA / IIA qualified or equivalent, and have worked in a commercial (profit making) business, managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
