Financial Controller

Axon Moore are recruiting a technically focussed Financial Controller position with a Leeds-based multinational.

The role is aimed at someone with a strong financial accounting background (MUST be ACA qualified) and whose technical skills are up-to-date. You’ll manage a team of 5 with 2 direct reports and key responsibilities will include:

• Management of the external audit process and working closely with the group internal audit team

• Completion of statutory financial statements for the UK business and foreign branches

• Control of the UK balance sheet, driving continual improvements to associated controls and processes

• Ensuring compliance on tax affairs for overseas branches in conjunction with the Tax team

The business is undergoing a tremendous amount of change at present and therefore you’ll need to be someone accustomed to problem solving in an ever-evolving environment. Strong relationship building and communication skills are a must too.

The successful candidate will either be: an experienced Senior Manager / Manager in Practice (Audit) looking to make their first move into industry OR someone who has left practice within the last 5 years and can demonstrate strong career progression since.

Key experience / traits:

• Must be ACA qualified with up-to-date technical skills

• Recent experience of a reporting led role in a large corporate organisation

• Strong balance sheet management experience and prior experience of having improved reconciliation processes and controls

• Strong staff management experience

• International accounting experience greatly preferred

 

The role is based in Leeds and will pay £65-70,000 plus car allowance and benefits package.
