Through continued success and growth a UK Marine Engineering organisation is seeking to add a finalist or newly qualified Accountant to its established Finance team.

THE ROLE
The role of Finance Manager is to assist the Finance Director in the administration and control of the company's finances and finance department as well as ensuring the company complies with its reporting requirements as set out by both internal and external stakeholders.

The Finance Manager is tasked with the day to day management of the finance department ensuring it provides an effective support to the company, including providing accurately and timely information to Senior Management as and when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
-Overall day to day management of the Finance department including direct responsibility for five members of staff.
-Preparing monthly financial reports including cashflow forecasts and project accounts.
-Prepare forecasts of the company's financial performance and monitor actual performance against these forecasts.
-Preparing the financial information for the company's quarterly Management Control System (MCS) and annual Management Planning System (MPS).
-Monitoring internal control procedures to ensure compliance.
-Liaise with Area Europe and other departments (e.g. finance and administration, treasury, personnel etc.,) accordingly.
-Preparing the statutory accounts and the consolidated statutory accounts for the holding company.
-Assisting with and monitoring the preparation of the statutory accounts for the other UK subsidiaries.
-Working with the company's external auditors to ensure an effective year-end audit process.
-Liaising with colleagues and the treasury department to ensure compliance with the company's hedging strategy.
-Controlling of credit facilities provide to staff, including company credit cards and prepaid mastercards.
-Ensure statutory compliance in respect of all financial matters.
-Provide the management team with financial management information as laid down from time to time.
-Provide guidance, support and training to the finance team, including the performance of staff appraisals

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
-Either qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or be in the final stages of qualification
-Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to lead from the front
-Accountancy practice experience would be advantageous
-Strong system and Excel skills

SALARY & BENEFITS
An annual salary of £35,000 - £40,000 pa plus study support and a range of flexible benefits including PHI, Dental Plan and excellent pension
