ABPM as experts in financial recruitment are assisting a leading global organisation with a senior appointment within the Group.
This is a senior finance role operating at Group level, supporting the delivery of all financial accounts and controls across the business. As Group Financial Controller you lead, manage and motivate a multi-disciplinary team of over 40 people to excel. Ensuring that the right controls, processes and procedures are in place. Providing expert finance consultation to the business and working collaboratively to deliver the business goals.
Operating strategically, you will create the Finance strategy that will deliver the business goals whilst preparing the function for our significant growth plans. Reporting into a member of the board you will partner our executive stakeholders and will be responsible for our subsidiaries across Europe.
This is a role is for a 12-month maternity cover with potential for the role to extend further, if you are a Finance Controller who likes to lead in a fast-paced driven environment where you can innovate and make a difference to the business then our Group Financial Controller could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
The role split into three key areas Leading People, Delivering operational excellence and Financial Accounts and operations.
- Create a high performing team -Working with your direct reports you will foster an environment of high performance, developing those in the team through people management mechanisms. Your role is to model the right behaviours, motivating and inspire them to exceed expectations
- Delivering operational excellence - Develop the operational plan for the Department that delivers corporate goals/targets. Deliver best in class operational procedures and practises, ensuring processes and procedures are consistent, effective and regularly reviewed. Initiate systematic reviews of organisational processes to identify ways of enhancing the client/customer experience and make operational efficiencies
- Financial Accounts and Operations -Overall responsibilities for our accounts across the UK and Europe, including analysing P&L and financial performance, monitoring our funding level with bank and tracking group cashflow. Preparation of the accounts for Audit purposes and manage the audit relationships. Maintain and develop relationships with the banks and HRMC
Skills, qualifications and qualities required

A technical specialist who can cope well under pressure and have great tenacity and drive.
As a Qualified Accountant with an ACCA or ACA qualification you will have extensive practice experience. Its key that you have successfully managed large multi-disciple teams ideally in a Private Equity backed business.
You will be energetic, self-motivated and focussed on delivering results, this will be combined with the ability to critically analyse business situations, plan, resolve problems and seek to continually improve performance. As a skilled communicator, you can influence at all levels both internally and externally to get the right outcome
