As Assistant Director of Finance and Procurement you will contribute to the leadership of Origin and be a member of the Senior Management Group.

Reporting to the Director of Finance you will be assisting with developing corporate strategies, service design, determining annual plans and priorities, supporting achievement of corporate performance objectives and ensuring effective inter – team working.

Detailed Job Description

As Assistant Director of Finance and Procurement you will contribute to the leadership of Origin and be a member of the Senior Management Group.

Reporting to the Director of Finance you will be assisting with developing corporate strategies, service design, determining annual plans and priorities, supporting achievement of corporate performance objectives and ensuring effective inter – team working

Specific responsibilities include

  • To ensure that efficient, reliable, cost effective Finance, Treasury & Procurement services are delivered to all users, engendering high levels of customer satisfaction that compare favorably with Origin's peers
  • In conjunction with the Director of Finance provide advice to the Board, Executive and colleagues on Finance and Procurement related matters promoting best practice
  • Be a prime source of finance and procurement expertise within the business at both an operational and strategic level leading on the delivery and monitoring of the delivery of VFM
  • Deputise for the Director of Finance in his/her absence

Candidate's Profile

You must be a CCAB Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience in managing both financial & management accounting functions including consolidations and delivering a high performing finance service in a complex and ever changing environment.

It is essential that you have strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex financial information to a wide range of audiences.

This is an opportunity for a senior finance person to work autonomously, operate in a pivotal position across an organisation and also manage a procurement function in addition to finance. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of procurement procedures and best practice.

Financial modelling and the appraisal of investment proposals is desired. Treasury management and exposure to joint ventures is a real advantage.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that Origin's culture is one of customer focus, continuous improvement and delivery. You will have strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, energy, drive, and commitment; you will personify Origin's values.

Previous experience operating in the social housing sector is not essential however you must have an empathy with the sector and experience of working in a regulated environment is preferred.
