Our client has a requirement for a Project Cost Accountant. This role is based in Hampshire.
Project Cost Accountant responsibilities:
- Manage the IT Portfolio budget, forecast and spend for all IT projects and programmes
- Support ongoing work to improve both financial processes and financial capabilities within IT
- Ensure that good financial governance is applied to IT projects and programmes
- Provide project cost accounting subject matter expertise as required
- Deliver portfolio reporting and related analysis for the IT Director and senior management team.
Project Cost Accountant skills:
- Ideally a Qualified Accountant. CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
- Experience in Project Cost Accounting for multiple significant IT projects and programmes, or ideally within an IT Portfolio is essential
- Highly analytical and able to work with a fine excellent attention to detail in a high-pressure work environment
- Effective communicator as the role will require working with range of stakeholders from Project Managers to Senior Managers
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Oracle would be an advantage
- Knowledge of the end to end project and programme lifecycle and the application of financial processes within these.
