Head of Finance - Manufacturing- Swindon- up to 75K


Hays Senior Finance is currently recruiting a Head of Finance for a manufacturing business in Swindon.
Suitable candidates will be qualified with experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsible for the provision of financial and statistical information for senior and local group management. Ensure continued maximum optimum use of resources available to the Company in current and future periods. Integrate the Finance Department to become actively involved with the rest of the business. Responsibility for managing the Finance Teams at both plants Swindon and Bristol.

  • Preparation and presentation of reports on a weekly / monthly basis at meetings of the Business Teams, highlighting points requiring action and/or knowledge
  • Development & introduction of improved systems and control procedures in all financial areas of the business as directed by and in co-operation with the members of the Business Teams
  • Introduction, issue and implementation of the Company's Finance Directives
  • Preparation of monthly forecast, quarterly review, annual budget and five year plan for submission to all reporting lines for approval
  • Preparation and accountability for the Finance Department expense budget
  • Group Reporting - Preparation and reporting to Group Finance in prescribed formats to IND GAAP. Maintain reconciliation of GAAP differences and as required by Group Finance ad hoc reports. Present the U.K. finance requirements at group level
  • Review monthly operational results with the Business Teams
  • Review full year results with the Business Teams
  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts for all UK entities
  • Review of monthly and annual calculations of the Corporation Tax initially proposed by the Financial Accountant and/or external auditors
  • Proactively obtain Tax Credits through the Trade & Industry Department and report costs
  • Obtain and negotiate business funding with the appropriate banks and/or financial institutions for approved Business Projects which require Capex
  • All day to day aspects of managing the Finance Department including employee relations and recruitment of new employees
  • Management of divisional Finance Departments including producing accounts, credit control, payroll and purchase ledger. Deal with all financial aspects of managing the business including representing DTL business to bankers, investors and other invested parties as appropriate
  • Willingness to travel as and when required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience for Position:

  • Qualified Accountant Knowledge/experience
  • Experience of operating within international trade
  • Knowledge of organising Capital Outlay
  • Experience in related field and people management experience
  • Knowledge and application of MatFlow and MFGPro business systems - or similar
  • Experience of working within a Finance Manager role within manufacturing businesses
  • Financial Management in a multi site environment
