Financial Controller

Axon Moore are exclusively recruiting a very exciting, and newly created, Financial Controller position. Our client is a well-known, fast-paced business, with operations across the country.

Continued growth and ongoing change within the business has allowed a role to be formed which will support elements of existing positions, in addition to taking the lead on a variety of business improvement initiatives. This role offers great variety and will require a pro-active character who enjoys taking responsibility for delivery.

Key tasks will include:

• Supporting the year-end and reporting commitments
• Supporting on external announcements and commentary
• Implementing improved analysis and review down to individual business unit level
• Improvements to business partnering, enabling regional management to drive performance
• Implementing improved internal business partnering to help Directors and Departmental management in their budget management
• Driving improvements to the management of stock across the business through utilisation of a new software tool and enhanced processes and controls
• Possible involvement in M&A activity moving forward

The ideal candidate for the role will have:

• Full accounting qualification – ACA / CIMA / ACCA
• Demonstrable experience of driving change / improvements
• Recent experience in a large multi-site organisation
• A good blend of technical financial reporting coupled with strong commercial exposure
• A desire to take ownership of projects
• Prior business partnering experience, ideally covering both cost management and helping to drive sales
• A confident, outgoing and assertive character

The role will pay £65-70,000 plus bonus & benefits and will offer tremendous career development potential.
