Athwal Resourcing is recruiting for a part time Accountant/Bookkeeper (ideally 3-4 days 12-16 hours) for a small growing business in Walsall. This role will support the Partners to ensure the key tasks within the finance department are accurately and efficiently completed:

The main responsibilities are:

* Purchase Ledger Management: Process all purchase invoices, ensure expenses are processed and Company protocols are strictly adhered to; reconcile all supplier and credit card statements and resolving any discrepancies; process regular supplier payment run;

* Sales Ledger Management: Ensure all sales invoices are correctly posted and incoming payments are allocated to invoices onto Accounts System, assist with credit control duties and ensure the month end sales ledger reconciliation and debtor reporting as completed;

* Cash Book Management: Ensure all cash transactions are postings and reconcile bank statements, Manage the petty cash and postings; complete bank reconciliations for bank accounts;

* Payroll Processing: Daily update of timesheets/productive hours, weekly review and update of hourly paid payroll, reconciliation of payroll control accounts;

* External Reporting - VAT returns;

* Carry out other adhoc projects as required by the Managers.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

* AAT Level 4 or newly qualified;

* 2-3 years hands on all round experience in a finance environment;

* Strong analytical skills with advance knowledge of excel;

* Working knowledge of ERP systems, XERO would be desirable;

* A solid understanding of 'book entries' will be required;

* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business;

* Have excellent attention to detail;

* A good understanding of postings, reconcilations accruals, prepayments and recharges.
