**Accounting Technician**
Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an Accounting Technician to work for a market leading business based in Birmingham.
This is a permanent role paying between £25,000 - £30,000 per annum + a number of benefits including study support.
Introduction:
To be responsible for monitoring nominal ledger balances and transactions, transacting postings and reconciling income, expenditure, assets and liabilities.
Principle Accountabilities:
* Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the nominal ledger
* Managing project and account code allocations
* Liaising with Business Partners and other stakeholders to ensure business situations are reflected in the accounts
* Reconciling balances to source systems, third party information and other reference points
* Analysing balance movements and investigating deviations from expectation
* Playing a key role in the monthly period end close
* Differentiating between multiple business units and legal entities
* Maintaining adherence to approval requirements and other policies
* Contributing ideas and recommendations for team improvement
* Monitoring and influencing team KPIs
Personal skills & experience:
* AAT qualified, or CIMA/ACCA/CCAB part-qualified
* Demonstrates a high level of comfort in using accounting systems
* Aware of the varying ways nominal ledger transactions are posted and implications for the control approach
* Strong data analysis skills (Excel inevitable; BI systems an advantage)
* High level of attention to detail and a satisfaction in exact pounds and pence
* Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written skills (ability to communicate across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders)
* Excellent time management skills (ability to work in a fast-paced environment)
* Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills (ability to work independently, flexibly and responsively)
* Committed team player with a genuine 'can do' attitude (hard working, uses initiative and great with colleagues)
Working hours:
40 hour working week Monday to Friday
